It can be difficult to tell the difference between credible news and misinformation — and in some ways, our brains are contributing to the problem. According to psychologist Nadia Brashier, when we hear information repeatedly, we’re more likely to believe it is true, even when it’s not. As misinformation proliferates on all of our newsfeeds, it can be difficult to tell if what we’re reading is accurate.
